Dya Singh of Australia Musician Review
I am a big fan of this Australian Punjabi shabad singer named Dya Singh who presents traditional Sikh music and keertan in contemporary mystical music with Punjabi, Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, Blues, Jazz, and Australian influences and also with 'qawali' and 'bhajan' and Sufi influences. Like Manu Chao, he too uses sound effects to make you feel as if you were actually there. He does this with the shabad, "Mittar Pyare Nu" from his album Dya Singh: Australian Sikh Rhythm and Soul which I call the "rainforest drama" sound effect which I find brilliant and interesting. I have several of his CDs and Ravleen has some copies of those CDs. Anyway, he has an awesome voice and very soothing and after a hectic and chaotic week in school or work, it is very soothing and you can relax easily. It's that good, trust me.
