Ramandeep's Account of Yosemite National Park

July 2, 2007
I left my house in San Jose, California. I was with my cousins Ravleen and Manjeet. The trip took hours and we reached Yosemite around dinnertime. We checked in at a lodging center called Camp Curry, otherwise called Curry Village, and settled in to our so-called "room". Our "room" was canvas-covered tents and it was designed to look like a cabin and it was a cabin. I also learned from local staff that we were in bear country. I was horrified and became paranoid about it. That's right, I was horrified. I could not sleep later that night, fearing for my own life and my cousins' lives.

I woke up at the crack of dawn. I took a shower and brushed my teeth. The restrooms were very filthy and smelly. The men's public showers were way better smelling and fresh. Then I ate breakfast. We were ready to go home and while my cousins and my aunt went biking, I helped my uncle with the luggage and after that, my cousins and aunt returned from biking and we all went river-rafting in the Merced River. The scenic view was breath-taking and awesome. The trip and route took a long time and we were all exhausted and felt like we were about to die. Then, we realized one thing: we forgot to bring water! I and my cousins and aunt and uncle were then picked up by a charter bus and we went back to Curry Village. My uncle and aunt's health went worst. So we decided to stay another night.
