This important date in my life will always be cherished and remember as long as I live. By the way, the title suggests, this post is going to be about my first earthquake. It was a very scary and at the same time, very fun experience. It was Back-To-School Night at my school and I was attending a parent meeting for my Space Science elective class when suddenly the whole room shook like crazy. I thought kids were running outside but everyone was inside. "Earthquake!", my Space Science elective teacher Mr. Kresge yelled. The kids were screaming and the parents panicked. Then, the shaking stopped. No damage was there and everyone was OK.
We were immediately told by school staff to evacuate the building. So we did. I stood there in the cold wondering about my friends and their parents. My friend Shishir and his parents were with us and Shishir's dad tried to call but the line was busy.
Later, that night, my parents and I were watching the news. The news said that the magnitude was 5.6 and the epicenter was near Alum Rock, as shows in the data I provided you with.
What an experience! Manjot also felt the earthquake. She should be writing soon about it.
Bye.
