Inauguration Of Barack Obama: A Very Historic One Part 2
Mr. Barack Obama has assumed power as the 44th President of the United States of America as the first African American president of the United States of America, and history has been made. All of the American people's questions have been answered. He took office on the steps of the U.S. Capitol building at noon, 12:02 PM EST, on Tuesday, January 20, 2009, a day which will go down in history and in our blog. United States Chief Justice John G. Roberts swore Obama in using the Lincoln Bible, and messed up a few times, but that was shrugged off, and the ceremony proceeded. Mr. Obama has used his middle name, "Hussein" for the Oath of Office. I have watched his moving and inspiring Inaugural Address, plus musical performances by Aretha Franklin and Yo-Yo-Ma performing "Air and Simple Gifts" by John Williams. I watched "The Moment" at school, and I thought to myself, "Somebody pinch me! I must be dreaming!" and saw the Inaugural Parade. Mr. Obama got out of the 2009 Cadillac presidential limo two times to walk, and thus the transition to power was peaceful and yet historic. What a wonderful day!
